Bibliothea Herpetologica

The ISHBH publishes the open access journal Bibliotheca Herpetologica. It contains articles, essays, bibliographies and news of people and events in our field and is a peer-reviewed journal published with one volume per year. The many important contributions make the publication a vital source for bibliographers, historians and taxonomists alike but at the same time the papers are by and large appealing to the layperson in the field.

The name of the journal, up to volume 5(1), was International Society for the History and Bibliography of Herpetology Newsletter and Bulletin.

The contents of the first 20 volumes of the journal are listed below with links to a pdf of the paper. The PDFs for volumes 1 through 13 are of the complete issue. Beginning with volume 14, each papers is a separate pdf.

Articles in Bibliotheca Herpetologica are available online as soon as they receive final editorial approval. At the end of the year a hard copy version of  Bibliotheca Herpetologica, containing all articles published that year, is printed and distributed to current members.

To view the most recent papers published in Bibliotheca Herpetologica click on the “quick link” on the right side for the webpage.

Back Issues: A limited number of printed copies of past issues are also available, but only from volume 14 to present. Price is US$25.00 per volume (shipping included) within the USA and $40 per volume (shipping included for outside the USA). Please contact our Treasurer for purchasing info or order online.
